The new model retains a similar design to the first generation HTC One, but features a larger, rounded chassis incorporating a 5-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, a depth of field sensor which can be used to individually refocus and apply various effects to the foreground and background elements of photos taken with the device's camera, a higher resolution front camera, improvements to the device's front-facing stereo speakers, expandable storage, new gesture functionality, and a refreshed version of HTC's Sense software. 6. Lumia 830

The Nokia Lumia 830 is a smartphone developed by Microsoft Mobile and branded as "Nokia" that runs Microsoft's Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. It was announced on September 4, 2014 at Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin and is scheduled to be released in October 2014. Its predecessor was Nokia Lumia 820 that announced in year 2012.

The new Lumia 830 phones address holes in Microsoft’s product offerings, apart from two new mobile accessories:

Wireless Charger
Screen casting dongle
The Nokia Wireless Charging Stand DT-903 connects via the Qi charging standard, but with some Lumia-specific improvements it will wirelessly connect to the phone via Bluetooth, and then flash when the phone’s battery goes too low. It can also dim at night.

The new mobile promises to help eliminate the shutter lag of over 1.5 seconds in the previous Lumia phones. There is also a built in Microsoft’s SensorCore, providing a pedometer sensor for tracking your steps via the Bing Health and Fitness app. This phone will also allow the cameras to continually autofocus, reducing the pocket-to-shot time. Any image processing will be done in the background, freeing the camera to shoot again and quickly.

The screen casting feature will enable users to beam content from their phones through the air to TVs via the HD-10, the Screen-Sharing dongle for Lumia Phones. It is similar to Chromecast dongle used by Android phones and tablets which plugs directly into the HDMI ports of TVs and displays. Instead, the HD-10 is essentially a hockey puck that connects to the TV via an HDMI cable. On top, a removable NFC token identifies the phone to the HD-10, which then beams whatever’s on the phone’s screen via Miracast technology. The HD-10 will also work with the Surface Pro 3, allowing it to screencast web apps like HBO Go, which Windows Phone doesn’t yet support.

7. LG G3

LG G3 is an Android smartphone developed by LG Electronics. Serving as a successor to 2013's G2, the G3 was unveiled at a press event on May 27, 2014, and released in South Korea the next day.
Inheriting design elements from the G2, such as its thin screen bezels and rear-mounted power and volume buttons, the G3 is distinguished primarily by being the first smartphone from a major manufacturer to incorporate a quad HD (1440p) display, and its inclusion of an infrared hybrid autofocus system for its camera. LG also touted the device's plastic "metallic skin"—designed to give the device a higher quality appearance, and a "simpler" user interface with an integrated intelligent personal assistant system.

The G3 received mostly positive reviews, with critics praising the overall appearance, performance, display quality, and software of the device. However, several aspects of the G3 were panned, including the company's decision to use a faux metallic plastic instead of actual metal, concerns over the usability of the device due to its large size, and whether the resolution of the display had any real effect on day-to-day usage of the device.

8. One Plus One

The phone uses a Snapdragon 801 with 3 GB RAM, a 3100 mAh battery, a 5.5" 1920 x 1080 (Full HD 1080p) JDI display with 401 ppi, a 6-lens 13 MP f/2.0 Sony Exmor IMX214 camera, and StyleSwap replaceable back covers. The phone is available in two storage variants; 16 GB and 64 GB. The phone does not feature a microSD card slot.

The phone employs an NXP PN547 NFC chip, embedded within the back cover, for close-range data communication with other devices.

The positioning function uses both GPS and GLONASS satellites. This use of a larger number of satellites allows better positioning in city canyons and obtaining a first position fix within a few seconds even under less than ideal conditions.
